In the year 2000 the European Council formulated in Lisbon the strategic goal of making the European union the most competitive and most dynamic knowledge-based market area of the world. Education has a key function in this goal. It was therefore appointed the fifth column in the European Union process of integration.

We intend to bring the topics of European education into public consciousness. Critically and as concretely as possible, we want to inform about educational initiatives within the EU and how they are put to practise. On our sides you will find contributions to different topics on Education at different levels and ages, ranging from kindergartens and elementary schools school to high schools and forms of professional training. Our aim is to inform you comprehensively about educational projects and initiatives throughout Europe. In addition we will report on studies and projects of the EU as well as on current publications and interesting websites in this field.

At the same time we would like to refer you to our printed edition, where we report on a special topic. The editions can be downloaded as an PDF-File from this website.
